Patrick Stufflebeam is a founding partner of Stufflebeam|Johnson LLC in Edwardsville, Illinois. He is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Missouri and represents clients in complex civil litigation, insurance-related disputes, and business matters. His practice includes Litigation - Insurance and Mass Tort Litigation / Class Actions - Defendants, with a focus on defending toxic tort claims involving asbestos, talc, ethylene oxide, PFAS, benzene, and other alleged exposures. Patrick also handles cannabis litigation, commercial litigation, premises liability matters, product liability claims, and insurance coverage disputes.
Patrick represents individuals, family-owned businesses and farms, and national corporations in matters involving litigation strategy, risk management, and dispute resolution. He serves in a National Coordinating Counsel role for asbestos litigation and has managed corporate representative depositions, large-scale document review projects involving millions of pages, and litigation coordination efforts across multiple jurisdictions. He also works with clients to develop and implement alternative fee arrangements tailored to the needs of complex litigation matters.
In addition to his litigation practice, Patrick advises businesses on corporate formation, acquisitions, contracts, cybersecurity, and privacy compliance. He counsels clients on issues involving the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and related data privacy obligations. Patrick also assists organizations with cyber incident response efforts, internal investigations, and breach notification requirements.
