Q&A
I focus my practice on intellectual property and corporate law, working with clients to protect and grow their businesses through trademarks, patents, and contracts. With degrees in biology, chemistry, and biochemistry, along with experience at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, I bring both scientific and legal insight to complex matters. I take pride in offering practical, responsive guidance that helps entrepreneurs and business owners turn their ideas into long-term success.
Clients often ask whether they really need to protect their intellectual property early on, and my answer is that acting sooner is usually more cost-effective and can prevent expensive disputes later. Another frequent question is whether a trademark or patent will give them complete protection, and I explain that these rights are powerful tools but must be enforced strategically as part of a broader business plan. Many clients also want to know how long the process takes, and I emphasize that while trademark and patent filings require time, I guide them step by step so they can keep building their business while the legal work is underway.
One of my most memorable cases this past year was getting to know a client’s business and helping them solve a hundred-thousand-dollar problem by finding the right legal strategy to protect their interests.
The most challenging part of my work is helping clients understand that intellectual property and business law are not quick fixes but long-term investments. Many come to me hoping for immediate solutions, and my role is to guide them through the process, set realistic expectations, and show how the right strategy now can prevent much larger problems later.
There were two individuals. First Dr. Daniel Goldberg, Esq. who first taught me about Intellectual Property and then Ed Rilee, Esq., a patent attorney and someone who has been a lifelong mentor of mine.
I enjoy going on adventures with my wife and our Australian shepherds, whether it’s hiking, exploring new places, or just being outdoors. I also like to unwind by playing the occasional video game or catching interesting content on YouTube.
