Paolo Iemma

Paolo, Partner of the Firm, specialises in banking/financial/investment services, insurance and asset management business as well as in market abuse regulation.

He provides advice and assistance to listed issuers in relation to their on-going duties, including disclosure requirements and treatment of price sensitive information.
He also advises on regulatory compliance and anti-money laundering. He provides advice and assistance to fintech intermediaries in relation to the development of new business models and setting up plans.

Paolo works on both customer and counterparty disputes, regulatory investigations and disciplinary proceedings in banking/financial/investment services and the insurance field and provides assistance in extraordinary transactions of regulated entities, particularly in the banking, financial and insurance field.Paolo worked in the Legal Department of CONSOB, the Italian public authority supervising and regulating the financial markets and the investment services sector.

He holds a Law degree and a Masters in "Banking and Financial Markets Regulatory Legislation" from the University “La Sapienza” of Rome.

Paolo has been awarded as “Regulatory Lawyer of the Year” at the TopLegal Awards 2019.

Paolo has written several articles on financial and banking services regulation and regularly lectures on the same topics. He is a member of the Italian Bar.
