Michael Jung heads the Appellate Practice Group at Strasburger & Price, LLP, a Texas-based regional firm. Mr. Jung is certified as a specialist in civil appellate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers. Following his graduation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1975 and Harvard Law School in 1979, Mr. Jung clerked for the Hon. Patrick E. Higginbotham, then a United States District Judge for the Northern District of Texas. Since joining Strasburger in 1980, Mr. Jung has orally argued 195 appeals in Texas and federal appellate courts, and has handled over 450 appeals in whole or in part.
Mr. Jung also practices governmental law, and heads Strasburger's Infrastructure and Land Use Law practice. Since 2005, he has served as Board Attorney for Dallas County Schools. He has served on numerous City of Dallas boards and commissions, including the City Plan and Zoning Commission, the City Charter Commission, the Ethics Review Task Force, and the Zoning Ordinance Committee. Mr. Jung currently chairs the Texas Land Conservancy, the White Rock Lake Task Force, and the White Rock Neighborhood Association; he is a past president of the Dallas Homeowners League, Texas Neighborhoods Together, and King of Glory Lutheran Church.
Between college and law school, Mr. Jung worked on reentry guidance for the Space Shuttle Orbital Flight Test at the Charles Stark Draper Laboratory in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
