P. Arley Harrel is a Member in the Seattle office of Williams Kastner, where his practice concentrates on civil litigation, trust and estate litigation, and trial-related real estate and commercial matters across Washington and Oregon. Harrel’s litigation work spans a wide range of areas, including antitrust, banking, class actions, commercial disputes, condemnation/eminent domain, construction, employment, environmental law, franchise law, intellectual property, municipal liability, personal injury, products liability, professional liability, real estate, securities, trade regulation, and transportation. In addition, he provides strategic counsel to clients on real estate and general business issues.
Harrel has represented high-profile clients in complex matters, including serving as MDL counsel for one of the world’s leading consumer goods companies in a nationally publicized product liability case heard before Judge Barbara Rothstein in U.S. District Court.
His experience also includes serving as Special Counsel to the City of Wenatchee in matters involving the Greater Wenatchee Regional Events Center Public Facilities District (Town Toyota Center). He acted as lead attorney for the City in a key bond validation case in Chelan County Superior Court, which was ultimately decided by the Washington State Supreme Court.
Arley has received numerous accolades throughout his career. He has been included in The Best Lawyers in America® for Commercial Litigation annually since 2012, and has been consistently nominated by his peers to the International Who’s Who of Product Liability Defense Lawyers every year since 1997. In 2010, Seattle Met magazine recognized him as a “Top Lawyer” in Commercial Litigation, a distinction based on his “AV Preeminent” peer rating from Martindale-Hubbell—the highest rating possible. He was also honored as one of Seattle’s “Top Business Litigation Lawyers” by Seattle Magazine in 2003 and named a Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers magazine from 2003 to 2006 and again from 2014 to 2019.
Harrel has held multiple leadership roles within the firm, including Chair of the Litigation Department (2000–2006), Chair of the Business Litigation Practice Group (2006–2008), Chair of the Environmental Practice Group (1992–1996), and service on the firm’s Board of Directors from 1991 to 2003.
