Nicole is a litigator drawn to the human side of disputes: what people want, why they disagree and what it will take to move a difficult matter forward. Her background in psychology and philosophy informs the way she approaches conflict, combining an understanding of interpersonal dynamics with a practical, analytical approach to problem-solving.
Her practice includes labour, employment and human rights matters, as well as broader civil litigation and dispute resolution. Nicole has represented individuals and large corporations before the Alberta Court of Justice, Court of King’s Bench and various administrative bodies.
Before joining Parlee in 2021, Nicole developed a broad perspective on advocacy through research and legal aid work. At The Law Centre in Victoria, she worked on matters ranging from human rights and family law to criminal and civil litigation, and served as the primary liaison for the legal clinic at William Head Institution. She also worked as a research assistant on complex contract and criminal law issues.
Nicole brings that range of experience to her practice today, particularly in disputes where understanding the people involved is as important as understanding the law.
