Biography

Nick Trost is a lawyer recognized by Best Lawyers in the practice area of Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs. He practices law in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and has been recognized by Best Lawyers since 2027. This recognition is based on a peer-review survey of lawyers in the same geographic region and legal practice area, reflecting the professional regard in which Nick Trost is held by other lawyers.

Nick has a deep understanding of how insurance companies operate. Before joining Parnall Law, he worked for several years at a law firm that defended insurance companies against claims and actions brought by injured individuals. At Parnall Law, he now uses that knowledge to benefit people who have suffered injuries due to the negligence of others.

Nick grew up in a close-knit Albuquerque family, where his parents and extended family instilled in him the values of hard work and integrity. He attended high school at Bosque School, where the faculty awarded him the Gerald R. Ford Character Award as a senior — an honor recognizing students who follow their conscience despite personal cost. Nick has since been recognized as a Bosque alumnus who continually manifests the school's core values of Scholarship, Community, and Integrity through his contributions to his community, career, education, and causes.

He then headed to Seattle to attend the University of Washington, where he majored in Communications–Journalism, graduating magna cum laude in 2010. As an undergraduate, Nick worked in the newsroom of KIRO-7 TV, Seattle's CBS affiliate — an experience that led him to decide he wanted to become a lawyer, in order to make a larger, more expansive impression on the world.

After graduation, Nick returned to his home state to attend the University of New Mexico School of Law, where he served as a member of the New Mexico Law Review and the ABA Moot Court Team. He graduated cum laude in 2013 and began his legal career handling mostly insurance-defense cases as an attorney at an Albuquerque law firm.

During that time, Nick also took on some plaintiff's cases and found that he much preferred them. One case in particular made a lasting impact: representing an individual who was injured after being T-boned in a motor-vehicle accident. That experience convinced him that he wanted to use his skills and experience to represent similarly situated individuals against insurance companies and other entities.

When the opportunity arose to join the Parnall Law team, Nick jumped at it. He describes joining Parnall Law as one of the highlights of his personal and professional life, saying he wakes up every morning excited to start working, and that he finds fighting for his clients — and helping them transform their lives after an incident that could have derailed them — far more rewarding than representing large insurance companies.

During his years in Seattle, Nick became a passionate fan of the University of Washington Huskies football team, and he remains an avid fan today. He also enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family. His wife, Quiana, is his rock and biggest fan, and his two daughters, Adelina and Paloma, are a blessing who teach him something new about appreciating life every day. His Spanish Water Dog, Cádiz, represents everything fun and loving in life.
