Nichad Davis is an attorney at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin, where he represents individuals in civil rights and personal injury matters. As the firm’s lead civil rights attorney, he works with clients facing serious legal challenges, providing advocacy and guidance to help protect their rights.

Nichad earned his JD from the Norman A. Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University, where he was awarded the Janette Soles Nelson Public Service Scholarship. He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology, with honors, from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

His interest in advocacy and civil rights developed early, influenced by family members who were actively engaged in education and community leadership. These experiences shaped his commitment to public service and addressing issues affecting underserved communities.

Before entering the legal profession, Nichad worked as an educator through Teach For America, teaching middle school students in Eastern North Carolina. In addition to teaching, he coached athletics and participated in educational enrichment programs, reinforcing his interest in mentorship and community engagement.

These experiences informed his decision to pursue a legal career, with a focus on promoting fairness and expanding access to opportunity.

Nichad began his legal career handling matters involving civil rights, personal injury, wrongful death, and discrimination claims. He also gained experience working at an insurance defense firm, providing inside insight into how cases are evaluated and defended.

His practice reflects a commitment to advocating for individuals facing significant challenges, particularly those involving injury, injustice, or unequal treatment.

Nichad has been recognized for his work in the legal profession and the broader community. He has been selected for inclusion on the Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch” list for Civil Rights Law and Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs (2025–2026) and named to the Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” list for Civil Rights (2025 - 2026).* In addition, North Carolina Lawyers Weekly named him to its 2025 Excellence in Law “Phenom” list, and The National Black Lawyers honored him on its “40 Under 40” (2023 - 2026) and “Top 100” lists (2026).*

Nichad is active in the legal community through his involvement with the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, where he serves on the Board of Governors, as well as the American Association for Justice and several other professional organizations. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of North Carolina.

Nichad is deeply committed to community engagement and mentorship. He has founded organizations focused on providing academic scholarships and promoting educational equity. He also mentors students, supports youth leadership programs, and contributes to initiatives aimed at expanding opportunities for young people.
