Biography
Nathan A. Cohen is the Managing Partner of Peckar & Abramson PC’s Los Angeles office and Co-Vice Chair of the firm’s Construction Contracts & Risk Management practice. Based in Los Angeles, California, he focuses his practice on Construction Law, construction and infrastructure matters, corporate compliance and internal investigations, and commercial litigation. Nate works with owners, developers, and contractors throughout all phases of the construction process, including contract negotiation, project counseling, claims preparation, dispute resolution, and litigation.
Nate regularly speaks and lectures on legal and risk-related issues affecting construction and infrastructure projects. His current and recent representations include:
- Assisting with multiple claims arising from a large airport project on the West Coast
- Representing clients on construction claims during active projects and after project completion
- Advising civil contractors on risk allocation, claims strategy, and dispute mitigation
Before returning to Peckar & Abramson in 2018, Nate served as Chief Legal Officer for a large privately held real estate company based in Los Angeles. In that role, he managed the company’s day-to-day legal matters and advised senior leadership while reporting directly to the Board of Directors. Earlier in his career, Nate was a senior associate at Peckar & Abramson, where he handled all stages of construction litigation and advised clients on corporate ethics and regulatory compliance.
Prior to joining private practice, Nate served as an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia. In that role, he prosecuted felony matters involving complex narcotics distribution conspiracies and weapons-related offenses, gaining extensive courtroom and trial experience that continues to inform his construction law and commercial litigation practice.
