Morgan J. Gray

MORGAN J. GRAY is the founder and principal attorney of the Law Offices of Morgan J. Gray, P.C. in Quincy, Massachusetts. For more than three decades, he has concentrated his practice in Massachusetts workers’ compensation, public employee accidental and ordinary disability retirement, Social Security disability, and maritime law. He represents injured workers and state, county, and municipal employees throughout Massachusetts, including police officers, firefighters, and other public safety personnel injured in the line of duty. His maritime practice includes representing injured seamen and maritime workers under the Jones Act, Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, Defense Base Act, and Non-Appropriated Fund Instrumentalities Act throughout the United States and overseas.

Attorney Gray is a certified Proctor in Admiralty by the Maritime Law Association of the United States and a Fellow of the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers. Before founding his firm in 1996, he practiced with two Massachusetts law firms and presided over evidentiary hearings for the City of Boston Retirement Board.

Attorney Gray received his B.A. in Political Science/American Studies from Saint Michael’s College in 1987 and J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 1991. Admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1991, he is also admitted before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

Attorney Gray currently serves as President of the Bar Association of Norfolk County and Chair of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Social Security and Public Employee Retirement Practice Group. He also serves as a Hearing Officer for the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers and on the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Joint Bar Committee on Judicial Appointments. He is a Life Fellow of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation, serves in the MBA House of Delegates, and has served on the MBA Executive Nominating Committee.

Attorney Gray has served on the Salvation Army of Quincy Advisory Board since 2012 and is active in the Quincy Chamber of Commerce, Maritime Law Association, Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group, Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives, and Eire Society of Boston.

A frequent speaker on workers’ compensation, public employee disability retirement, maritime law, and other disability-related matters, Attorney Gray has presented at CLE programs, professional conventions, and insurance seminars. He has also served as faculty for MBA and MCLE programs, lecturing on a wide range of issues affecting injured workers and public employees.
