Monte D. Jahnke is an experienced corporate attorney with a distinguished practice spanning more than 40 years.
Monte is credited with spearheading the firm’s entry into the captive insurance sector in the 1980s. His legal career has focused exclusively on the formation and regulation of insurance entities. His practice emphasizes corporate, domestic, multi-state and off shore insurance matters, as well as the merger, acquisition, dilution and consolidation of insurance companies and their affiliates.
He routinely serves as developmental and on-shore counsel for regional and national alternative risk, single parent and group captive programs. Monte has significant experience in a wide array of industry and commercial captives, and in servicing physician, hospital and managed care interests and their risk management needs.
Monte frequently writes for industry journals and lectures at national and international insurance and captive industry meetings. He has served as national and state level chair of bar and legal association sections and committees, and has been consulted by government and industry groups on- and off-shore regarding insurance and alternative risk policy and industry matters.
Prior to entering law school, Monte served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He is a longstanding designee in the publications Who’s Who in American Law and The Best Lawyers in America ®, Woodward/White, Inc.,as well as in other honorary listings. Monte is a member of the State Bar of Michigan.
Monte holds an undergraduate degree from Wayne State University where he was appointed to the honorary Omicron Delta Kappa fraternal organization. Following naval service during the Vietnam War, he received his law degree from the Wayne State University Law School where his honors included appointment to the school’s National Moot Court Team as an oralist, and receipt of the Marx Scholarship.
