Monique Evans is a litigator representing clients in commercial disputes, and regulatory and administrative law matters. She also maintains a transportation law practice with a particular focus on railway and container trucking matters, and has been ranked by the Chambers Canada Guide for transportation law (Transportation: Rail & Road) since 2021.
Monique’s experience has touched a variety of industries and subject areas including supply chain logistics and infrastructure, bulk commodities, agricultural products, transportation of dangerous goods, mining, pharmaceuticals, chemistry, and more. She relishes an opportunity to learn about a different industry and particularly enjoys matters involving science and engineering, supply chain and industrial processes, transportation, infrastructure, and related subjects.
With respect to her transportation law practice, Monique has extensive experience assisting shippers, terminals, and other clients to obtain better freight rates, terms and conditions, and rail service from railway companies. Her experience includes level of service complaint proceedings before the Canadian Transportation Agency, final offer arbitration, and arbitration on level of services. Monique also has experience with rail siding and track use agreements, crossing disputes, extended interswitching, demurrage and supplemental services, railway discontinuance, challenging railway tariffs, and railway certificates of fitness. Monique acts for trucking companies in regulatory proceedings, particularly those involving the BC Container Trucking Commissioner.
