Recognized in Ones to Watch since 2026 Miles H. Hickman is a partner and trial attorney at Roman Austin Car Accident and Personal Injury Lawyers, representing people injured in car and truck crashes and premises liability incidents, and families bringing wrongful death claims, across Tampa Bay. Born and raised in Lakeland, he has lived in central Florida his entire life and was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2017.
Mr. Hickman began his career at an insurance defense firm in St. Petersburg, where he clerked during law school and stayed for his first six years in practice, rising to manage a legal team of more than ten. He handled personal injury claims at every stage, pre-suit, litigation and trial, and served as both first and second chair trial counsel. He now brings that experience to the people on the other side of those files.
He builds cases the way he was trained to defend them: prepared for trial from the first week rather than positioned for settlement. His stated professional goal is board certification as a civil trial attorney.
Mr. Hickman has been recognized in Florida Super Lawyers Rising Stars in 2025 and 2026. He joined the Million Dollar Advocates Forum in 2024. He is a member of The Florida Bar, the Florida Justice Association, the St. Petersburg Bar Association and the Clearwater Bar Association.
He earned his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in 2017 and a B.S. in legal studies and history from the University of Central Florida in 2014. An Eagle Scout, he volunteers with the Suncoast Animal League, Clothes to Kids and the Backpack Lady Project.
