Mikhail (Mike) Tretyak is a Partner and Head of IP/IT Practice & International Desk with Digital Rights Center. He has significant experience in contract law and transactions with intellectual property (IP), copyright and related rights, IP/IT asset due diligence, protection of employment-related and commissioned works, structuring IP asset assignment / licensing transactions, structuring groups of companies for IT project scale-up, IT / telecom law, legal support of computer programs and databases development, personal data protection, domain name disputes, media and advertising law, modern technologies (social networks, blockchain, cryptocurrencies, crypto projects, artificial intelligence, robotization), legislative regulation of modern technologies. Has experience in creating and evolving start-up companies, in some of which he is a shareholder and/or private counsel.
Mike authored a number of publications on intellectual property and information technology in Russian and international publications. He was the main editor of the English-language version of the 3rd volume of the "Blockchain and Distributed Systems" book authored by world-famous blockchain solutions developers Distributed Lab. Mike regularly provides comments for high-profile Russian and international media on draft laws and trends in the IT industry regulation in Russia, including TIME magazine, Sekret Firmy, Kommersant to name a few.
Mike supports a sensible and balanced approach to regulation of IT and crypto businesses. He is keenly interested in direct participation in the development of adequate legislative regulation of modern technologies, both locally and globally.
