Michelle Moe Witte is a trial lawyer who represents clients in complex civil litigation, with an emphasis in labor and employment law. Her clients include individuals, non-profits, small businesses, and corporations.
Much of her practice is devoted to defending employers charged with discriminating on the basis of age, gender, race, disability, or religion under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. Additionally, Michelle assists clients with compliance issues and audits, employee handbooks, policy development, investigations, performance evaluations, concerns of workplace violence, job descriptions, employment contracts, severance agreements, and non-competition agreements. She is a trusted, strategic legal advisor, and has a proven track record of successfully representing clients in state and federal court and before various administrative agencies. Her clients include non-profit organizations, small businesses, and corporations.
Ms. Witte is admitted to practice before the Kansas Supreme Court, all other Kansas courts, the United States District Court for the District of Kansas, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
Ms. Witte received her Juris Doctor degree in 2006 from Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas. While attending law school, she was a member of the Moot Court Council and served as its President. She was invited to be a member of the Order of Barristers, a national honor society for law school graduates who demonstrate exceptional advocacy skills. Ms. Witte graduated magna cum laude from Wichita State University in 2002, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication.
Ms. Witte is a member of the Litigation Counsel of America, Wesley E. Brown Inn of Court, Wichita Bar Association, Wichita Women Attorneys Association, and Young Professionals of Wichita. Ms. Witte has been recognized by Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in employment litigation defense and was named an “associate to watch” by Chambers USA, where she is a ranked lawyer in the Labor and Employment Litigation sector.
An active member of the bar, Ms. Witte has held positions on the Wichita Bar Association's Board of Governors, and received the Wichita Bar Association’s 2013 President’s Award in recognition of her outstanding service to the organization.
She is President of Music Theatre Wichita board.
