Tell us a little bit about your practice and what makes it unique.

Our practice is characterized by a very broad market experience (30 years) plus a very versatile specialization. We go the paths of our clients and therefore we often find ourselves in new coun-tries, new legal areas, new technical developments and new business models. The only thing which is stable is the industry. Our clients are deriving from communication and
technology.

What common questions are you asked by clients, and what are your answers?

Q: Is Germany different from the legal system we come from? A: A bit complicated from time to time but a healthy legal environment for a top market!

Describe one of your most interesting or memorable cases in the past year.

Personal involvement in frequency auctions, the biggest copyright case in world history (Oracle vs. SAP), milestone transactions and court cases in the satellite, cable and TV industry.

What is most challenging about your area(s) of expertise?

Come and go of players.

Were there any particular inspirations (people or events) that spurred your interest in your practice area(s)?

Freedom of communication in the sense of CNN founder Ted Turner in the mid 80s inspired me as well as my political background as active Christian Democrat.

What other interests do you have?

Family, history, travelling, art and music, garden and a bit of sport.

Anything else you’d like to share?

Corona shows: Nothing is better than personal relationships and a hug, let’s hope that it all comes back.
