Workers' Compensation Law - Claimants

Biography

Michael Roessler is a Partner at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin, where he represents injured workers in workers’ compensation claims. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Michael focuses his practice on Workers’ Compensation Law for claimants and has been with the firm since 2015. He is a North Carolina Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law. Before joining the firm, he spent more than five years representing clients in personal injury and workers’ compensation matters.

In addition to his legal practice, Michael serves as an adjunct professor of Political Science at Queens University of Charlotte, where he teaches pre-law and related courses. His academic background includes earning his Juris Doctor, with honors, from the University of North Carolina School of Law at Chapel Hill. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Queens University of Charlotte, double majoring in History and Political Science.

Michael’s professional path began in journalism, where he wrote news articles and opinion columns for the Mooresville Tribune in Mooresville, North Carolina, and the Independent Tribune serving the Concord-Kannapolis area. Through interactions with attorneys advocating for individuals facing difficult circumstances, he discovered a strong interest in legal advocacy. That experience led him to pursue a legal career focused on protecting and advancing the rights of others.

Michael has continued to integrate his interest in writing with his legal work by contributing to legal publications, including the North Carolina Law Review, the Charlotte Law Review, and the Southwestern Law Review. He served as an editor for the 86th volume of the North Carolina Law Review and co-authored a chapter on disbursing funds in the 2015 edition of Personal Injury Practice in North Carolina.
