Michael R. Phillips

Mike Phillips serves as Chair of Kean Miller’s Energy and Environmental Litigation practice group and represents clients in complex, high-stakes litigation in state and federal courts, including trials and appeals. Based in New Orleans, Louisiana, his practice focuses on matters involving single- and multi-plaintiff claims, class actions, multi-district litigation, and Mass Tort Litigation / Class Actions – Defendants. While his work frequently involves the energy sector, he also represents clients across a wide range of industries that are central to the regional economy. Mike has handled matters involving disputes valued in the billions of dollars and represents Fortune 500 companies, privately held businesses, and individuals, on both the plaintiff and defense sides.

Mike maintains a broad litigation and trial practice. He handles disputes involving environmental contamination, wetlands and coastal issues, toxic tort and personal injury claims, oil and gas exploration and production, legacy litigation, antitrust matters, intellectual property disputes, commercial litigation, construction claims, products liability, and other general business disputes.
