Biography
Michael McBride is an intellectual property and patent trial lawyer who focuses primarily on high-stakes, complex patent litigation and patent prosecution matters in which his deep technical skills as an electrical engineer are a powerful asset to his clients. His vast experience in patent disputes over the last 13 years includes cases in venues across the country involving semiconductor manufacturing and transistor design, flash memory controllers, fiber optic networks, digital video compression and processing, CMOS image sensors, voice codecs, SEPs, and more. He has also prosecuted patent applications covering computer hardware and software technologies, aerospace technologies, and upstream oil and gas technologies.
Mike has been recognized by attorneys across the country as one of the Best Lawyers in America since 2021 for his patent litigation expertise and since 2022 for his intellectual property litigation expertise and in 2022 for both his patent and intellectual property litigation expertise. He has been recognized by Texas Rising Stars in 2016, 2017 and 2018, an honor given to the top Texas lawyers age 40 and younger or those who have practiced no more than 10 years. Fewer than 2.5 percent of eligible Texas attorneys earn this selection each year.
After graduating from The University of Texas School of Law with honors, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Hayden Head of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. He has also served as a volunteer prosecutor for the City of Houston in the city’s municipal courts. Prior to attending law school, Mr. McBride worked in the product engineering group of Fujitsu-AMD Semiconductor LLC at its flash memory fabrication facility in Austin, Texas.
