Education and Professional BackgroundMike completed his undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received a degree in Journalism and contributed as a writer for The Daily Tar Heel and the UNC Journalist. He earned his JD from North Carolina Central University School of Law and is admitted to the United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina.
In 2001, Mike joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin and became a Partner the following year. Over the course of his career, he has developed broad experience across multiple areas of injury law, helping clients navigate complex claims and legal processes.

He has served multiple terms on the Board of Governors for the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and is also a former Board of Director member of the Durham Bar Association and the 16th Judicial District Bar Association. Mike has been an active leader and committee member within the North Carolina Bar Association, as well.
Mike has contributed to the legal profession through writing and education, including authoring portions of the North Carolina Personal Injury Liens Manual published by LexisNexis and serving as a long-time editor of Trial Briefs, a publication of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. Additionally, he has been a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars and has supported legal programming as a host and emcee.
Outside the PracticeBeyond his legal work, Mike is active in his community and church, where he serves in leadership roles and supports various initiatives.
