Biography

Michael J. Schostok is an Associate at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. who represents individuals and families whose lives have been impacted by catastrophic personal injury, medical negligence, and wrongful death.

Since joining the firm in 2019, Mr. Schostok has garnered substantial experience handling personal injury and medical malpractice cases and has obtained significant results on behalf of his clients, including:

  • $15.75 million settlement for a Florida man who lost his leg in a forklift collision

  • $15 million settlement for a motorcyclist who suffered an above-the-knee amputation after a collision

  • $3.735 million jury verdict in one of his first jury trials with the firm for a man who was struck by a drowsy driver who drifted onto a sidewalk

Mr. Schostok gained valuable litigation experience before becoming an attorney. He first spent two and a half years as a law clerk at another prominent Chicago personal injury firm before joining Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard as a clerk, where he worked alongside the firm’s attorneys on high-profile cases and trials. These experiences gave him an early understanding of the meticulous preparation and commitment required to successfully litigate high-stakes cases.

For Mr. Schostok, practicing law at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard is particularly meaningful. He is the son of the late Michael P. Schostok, a longtime Partner of the firm who dedicated more than two decades to representing individuals and families affected by catastrophic loss. Mr. Schostok is proud to continue his father’s legacy while building his own career focused on advocating for injured clients.

Mr. Schostok’s accomplishments have earned him recognition from several respected legal publications. He has been selected to Best Lawyers' “Ones to Watch” list since 2022 and has repeatedly been named to the Illinois Super Lawyers' “Rising Stars” list and Law Bulletin Media’s “Emerging Lawyers” list.

Beyond his work at the firm, Mr. Schostok is committed to giving back to the community. He serves on the board of the Michael Matters Foundation, a nonprofit organization formed in memory of his father that is dedicated to helping individuals diagnosed with various forms of brain cancer.

Mr. Schostok graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in political science before earning his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2019. During law school, he was a member of Chicago-Kent’s nationally renowned Trial Advocacy Team.

In his spare time, Mr. Schostok enjoys listening to and playing music, watching movies, and traveling.
