Michael F. "Mike" Scully is a shareholder at SiebenCarey who has dedicated his legal career to representing injured workers and individuals whose lives have been disrupted by serious accidents. His practice focuses on workers' compensation, personal injury, automobile accident claims, and insurance litigation. Known for his practical approach and persistent advocacy, Mike works to help clients secure the medical care, wage-loss benefits, and financial recovery they need to move forward.
Before becoming an attorney, Mike spent more than 15 years working in government, nonprofit, and educational organizations, experience that shaped his commitment to public service and helping people navigate complex systems. After earning his law degree from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, he was admitted to the Minnesota State Bar in 1997 and later to the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. He is also a qualified mediator certified by the Minnesota Supreme Court.
Mike has long been recognized by his peers for his work on behalf of injured workers. He has been included in Best Lawyers in America® for Workers' Compensation Law since 2010 and was honored as Best Lawyers' Lawyer of the Year for Workers' Compensation Law in 2016. He has also been selected to Minnesota Super Lawyers every year since 2014.
In addition to representing clients, Mike has been an active advocate for improving Minnesota's workers' compensation system. Through his work with the Minnesota Association for Justice, he has lobbied the Minnesota Workers' Compensation Advisory Council and the Minnesota Legislature on legislative reforms designed to better protect injured workers. He also regularly presents educational programs for labor unions, helping workers understand their legal rights after a workplace injury.
Mike lives in Hastings with his family and remains actively involved in his church and local community. His commitment to service extends beyond the courtroom, and in recognition of his leadership he received the Distinguished Leadership Award from the YMCA of Hastings.
