Michael K. Bailey is a trial attorney with Paul Trial Group in Winter Park, Florida, representing individuals and families in personal injury litigation and wrongful death matters. His practice has focused for more than four decades on cases involving automobile negligence, medical malpractice, products liability, premises liability, and insurance disputes.
Mr. Bailey earned his A.B. degree from the College of William and Mary in Virginia in 1978 and received his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in 1981. During law school, he was selected as a Dana Scholar based on faculty nomination and academic achievement within the top fifteen percent of his class. He received The American Jurisprudence Award for excellence in Tort Law and served as an Associate Editor of the Stetson Law Review. Mr. Bailey also authored published legal articles, including “Torts: Damages for Outrageous Conduct-Florida Recognizes An Overdue Remedy,” 9 Stetson Law Review No. 2 (1980), and “Florida’s New Fee Recovery Statute: Bad Medicine,” 10 Stetson Law Review No. 3 (1981). In recognition of his academic and extracurricular accomplishments, he was included in Who’s Who Among Students in America’s Universities and Colleges.
In June 1987, Mr. Bailey became the youngest Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer in Florida at the time of his certification. He is also certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Among the more than 91,000 attorneys actively licensed in Florida, fewer than 175 have achieved board certification as civil trial attorneys through both the state and national certifying organizations.
Mr. Bailey is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an organization whose membership includes attorneys who have obtained million-dollar verdicts or settlements. He is also a member of The Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, the Southern Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, the Florida Justice Association, and the Orange County Bar Association.
He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, all Florida state courts, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
At Paul Trial Group, Mr. Bailey represents plaintiffs in personal injury litigation throughout Central Florida, including Winter Park and surrounding communities.
