Biography
Megan McDowell is an associate in the firm’s Banking and Financial Services Practice Group. She advises financial institutions on a wide range of regulatory compliance matters, including mortgage lending, loan servicing, consumer protection laws, and multi-state licensing requirements.
Her practice includes assisting clients with the development and enhancement of compliance management systems, advising on operational implementation of regulatory requirements, preparing for supervisory examinations, and responding to state and federal agency inquiries. Megan also supports clients in conducting internal risk assessments, drafting and revising policies and procedures, and addressing findings from internal reviews or regulatory oversight.
Megan’s nearly two-year secondment with the compliance risk team at one of the nation’s largest mortgage loan subservicers informs her practice with firsthand perspective on the regulatory and operational complexities confronting large financial institutions. This experience enables her to support legal, compliance, and business teams in interpreting regulatory expectations, responding to supervisory findings, and implementing effective, scalable compliance solutions.
