Matthew acts for major financial institutions, insolvency practitioners, federal and state government entities, government-owned corporations and private property clients. His client base spans real estate transactions, banking and finance, and insolvency and restructuring work across Queensland and nationally.
Matthew advises across the full range of real estate and commercial transactions: acquisitions, disposals, leasing, development arrangements and complex property structuring. He also advises financiers and insolvency practitioners on the realisation of distressed assets, restructures and workouts, and asset management in insolvency contexts. He advises government clients on operational and land management matters, and has a particular interest in marine and waterfront projects.
Matthew's practice spans more than 25 years of complex real estate and commercial work. He has advised on acquisitions and disposals of significant federal and state government and government-owned corporation land holdings, and has managed distressed property realisations for major financiers and insolvency administrators across multiple cycles. His leasing and development work includes complex development arrangements, marina and waterfront projects and large-scale commercial transactions.
Matthew brings a dual perspective to real estate work: a thorough understanding of transactional property law combined with deep experience in insolvency and distressed asset contexts. This allows him to identify and assess structural and title risks that standard property advice may not surface.
