Matt Hochstetler is a founding member of the boutique trusts and estates law firm Kirkland Hochstetler PLLC, with offices in Naples, Florida and Canton, Ohio. Based primarily in Naples, Florida, Matt advises wealthy families, family offices, and private family trust companies throughout the United States. His practice focuses on Tax Law, Trusts and Estates, including estate planning, generational wealth transfer strategies, and trust and estate administration. He also counsels clients on the formation, governance, and ongoing operation of family offices and private trust companies.
Matt is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and is admitted to practice law in Florida, Georgia, and Ohio. He holds board certification in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law from the Ohio State Bar Association. In addition to his legal practice, Matt regularly writes and speaks on topics involving tax planning, trusts and estates, and fiduciary administration.
Matt earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Miami Heckerling Graduate Program in Estate Planning, where he graduated first in his class. He received his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from The University of Toledo College of Law. During law school, he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served on the executive board of the law review.
