Matthew H. Giger is a co-founder of Rosenberg, Giger & Perala PC and an attorney based in New York, New York, with more than twenty years of litigation experience. He represents clients in a broad range of litigation, dispute resolution, and advisory matters. His practice includes Entertainment Law – Music, with a substantial focus on copyright disputes and litigation arising within the music and entertainment industries, as well as matters involving trademark, commercial, real estate, and partnership disputes. Mr. Giger has been recognized as a New York Metro Super Lawyer in the area of Entertainment & Sports Law.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Giger has handled matters at every stage of the litigation process, including trials, motion practice, arbitration, mediation, and negotiated resolutions. He regularly represents artists, songwriters, producers, executives, and businesses in disputes connected to the music and entertainment industries, as well as in complex commercial conflicts. Mr. Giger received his A.B., magna cum laude, from Dartmouth College in 1996 and his J.D., cum laude, from New York University School of Law in 1999. Following law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable John S. Rhoades of the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. He then practiced as an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, where he worked in the firm’s litigation department on complex commercial matters.
Before co-founding Rosenberg, Giger & Perala PC, Mr. Giger practiced at Sullivan & Worcester LLP, where he handled a wide range of civil litigation and dispute resolution matters. His experience there included representing entertainment industry participants, public companies, financial institutions, technology companies, and real estate developers. Today, his practice continues to focus on litigation and counseling for clients in New York and across the country, with particular emphasis on legal issues affecting the music and entertainment industries.
