Q&A

Why settle for less when you can have a top-rated, award-winning legal team who achieves Proven #1 Highest Settlements for their clients?

At Easton & Easton, we are paladins of the legal profession — determined advocates of noble causes. When you hire us, you don't just get one attorney — you get our entire family. With more than 100 years of combined experience, we have recovered more than $500 million for our clients, including more than $200 million in the past 4 years alone.

I spend most of my time focusing on the litigation of high-value and more difficult cases — auto accidents, auto defects, boating accidents, trip and fall, slip and fall, Uber and ride-sharing accidents, premises liability. Our goal in every case is to get our clients the justice and recompense they deserve. In some cases, this means fighting every day all the way through trial. In other cases, it means convincing an insurance company to provide the settlement you deserve. In every instance, our goal is the same: to help our clients get the justice they are seeking for their particular case and their particular circumstances — because one-size doesn’t fit all and family should never settle for less!

We prepare every case from day one as if we're going to trial — and insurance companies know it.

*Past results do not guarantee a similar outcome. Every case is different and must be evaluated on its own merits.

Clients most often ask: "Will this cost me anything?" and "What is my case worth?"

Our answer to the first is simple:

No fee unless we win. You pay nothing upfront.

The second question requires more discussion. Every case is unique, but we've built our reputation on turning seemingly modest cases into significant recoveries by finding the human story behind every injury. We prepare every case from day one as if we're going to trial — and insurance companies know it.

We also help clients understand that we handle everything: medical bills, insurance companies, car repairs, and all the paperwork. Our job is to give you peace of mind so you can focus on getting better.

One of the most significant cases in our firm's history concluded recently when we secured $32,000,000 for a 71-year-old retiree who suffered life-changing injuries while bicycling when he was run over by a cement truck.

This case required meticulous investigation and preparation. After the police report initially found our client at fault, we worked with our own investigators and accident reconstruction experts to disprove this theory, and then used medical specialists and life care planners to demonstrate the full extent of our client's injuries and the impact on his remaining years. The settlement was recognized as the #1 Bicycle Accident Settlement in California in 2024 and one of the Top 20 Personal Injury Settlements in the United States by TopVerdict.com.

For our client, the settlement means he can receive the care he needs for the rest of his life. For us, it's a reminder of why we do this work: to give people a future filled with hope after tragedy.*

*Past results do not guarantee a similar outcome. Every case is different and must be evaluated on its own merits.

The most challenging aspect of personal injury law is that we're almost always fighting Goliaths — large insurance companies and corporations with unlimited resources whose sole objective is to pay injured victims as little as possible.

These defendants will spend millions defending a case rather than fairly compensating someone they've harmed. The challenge is leveling that playing field through relentless preparation and investigation.  Fortunately, our firm has the experience, experts, and financial means to compete and beat these Goliath insurance companies, regardless of the hurdles they try to throw in our way.

On the surface, a case might look simple. But we dig deeper. In one recent case, the defendant driver only had $25,000 in coverage — which would have been the end of the story at most firms. Our investigation uncovered an avenue to prove that the driver's employer should be held vicariously liable for the accident, which allowed us to ultimately resolve that case for $22,250,000.

Every case has a story. The challenge is uncovering it when defendants are working just as hard to keep it buried. We do it by preparing every case from day one as if we're going to trial — and insurance companies know it.

I always wanted to be an attorney for as long as I can remember — inspired to follow in my dad’s footsteps. When I was three years old, I told my parents I was going to be a lawyer — I don't even think I knew what it meant at the time — but I asked them to get me a briefcase and a suit so I could go to work with my dad. They were kind enough to indulge me.

As I got older, I started to learn what it really meant. I saw the clients who came to our home to meet with my father — people who cried about the anguish they were in. I saw the heartache they were going through and how much they revered my dad for fighting on their behalf. He was their hero.

I wanted to do that. I wanted to help the ordinary person achieve extraordinary and needed aid in their lives. This inspired me to become a lawyer and continue the Easton legacy of helping the ordinary man achieve justice — no matter how big of a Goliath he may be facing off against.

Outside the office, you might find me playing basketball with my kids, coaching their little league and basketball teams, doing CrossFit, or golfing. I love any kind of outdoor activity — camping, mountain biking, snow skiing, rock climbing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, wakesurfing, and tennis.

I'm also an Eagle Scout, which instilled in me a love of the outdoors that continues to this day. Most importantly, I cherish time with my beautiful wife Rachel and our four children. Family is central to everything I do.

Working with my family is one of the greatest joys of my life. When I tell people I work with my father and brothers, many say "what a nightmare" — they can't imagine it. But for us, it works. We get along great. We go out to lunch together almost every day, talk about our cases, discuss problems and how to fix them. That synergy is an enormous benefit for our clients.

I also spent two years abroad in Mexico City on a mission for my church, where I fell in love with the Hispanic culture and became fluent in Spanish. This has allowed me to help clients in Southern California who do not speak English — something I find deeply rewarding.

In 2016, I was the youngest litigator asked by NBC to screen test for Law & Order: You The Jury — a reality series created by Dick Wolf to feature high-profile litigators trying lawsuits live on primetime television. While flattered by the interest, I declined due to my commitments to my law practice and teaching schedule at Whittier Law School. My clients come first.
