Matthew Carcano

Matthew Carcano is a commercial litigation attorney and department head at Saltiel Law Group in Coral Gables, Florida. He oversees a team of attorneys and paralegals while representing businesses and individuals in complex commercial disputes across a wide range of industries. His practice focuses on all stages of litigation, including pre-suit investigations, negotiations, discovery, trial preparation, appeals, arbitration, and post-judgment enforcement.

Matthew manages a diverse litigation caseload involving business disputes, contract claims, shareholder and partnership matters, real estate litigation, and other complex civil litigation matters. He works closely with clients to develop litigation strategies tailored to their business objectives and legal needs, while coordinating case management and litigation support throughout each phase of a dispute.

Throughout his career, Matthew has represented clients before Florida state courts, the Florida District Courts of Appeal, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and arbitration tribunals. He has also worked on matters in jurisdictions including Texas, Georgia, New York, and Delaware in collaboration with local counsel. His experience includes preparing and arguing motions, drafting appellate briefs, conducting discovery, and presenting cases before judges, juries, and arbitration panels.

Matthew regularly handles matters involving procedural and substantive legal issues, federal statutes and regulations, and arbitration rules and procedures. He is known for his detailed case preparation, written advocacy, and courtroom presentation skills in high-stakes commercial litigation matters.

Before joining Saltiel Law Group, Matthew managed a broad caseload involving business litigation, real estate disputes, civil rights claims, and appellate matters. In that role, he drafted pleadings, motions, and discovery documents, advised clients on litigation strategy, and assisted with all aspects of case management.

Matthew earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from St. Thomas University School of Law. During law school, he was named “Best Advocate” in the Moot Court Intramural Competition and served as Senior Articles Editor for the St. Thomas Law Review. He also participated in the Moot Court Board and the Federal Bar Association.

Fluent in Spanish, Matthew frequently assists Spanish-speaking and international clients navigating commercial litigation and cross-border disputes in the United States. His bilingual communication skills help clients better understand the legal process and stay informed throughout their matters.

In addition to his legal practice, Matthew has contributed to legal education as an Active Learning Instructor at St. Thomas University, where he worked with first-year law students on legal analysis, writing, and academic success strategies.
