Matt J. Micheli

Matt is a member of the Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources group.

He has extensive experience with issues regarding mineral development on public lands. Matt has been listed in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business and recognized by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star.”

Matt helps clients work with the Bureau of Land Management, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Department of Interior on a variety of environmental matters. He also works with state regulatory agencies to help clients receive and defend permits and navigate the regulatory process. Matt’s experience includes federal and state litigation focused on environmental and natural resource issues. Matt also represents companies in oil and gas litigation in Wyoming and elsewhere around the country.

In addition, Matt maintains an active governmental affairs practice, assisting clients with relationships concerning the executive and legislative branches of the Wyoming government.

Matt spent eight years at Holland & Hart before leaving in 2010 to serve as General Counsel for a private equity backed technology/oil and gas company. During his three years as General Counsel, he was responsible for all legal, regulatory, land, and governmental affairs work. Matt also took the primary role of creating a state and federal regulatory scheme for a ground breaking energy technology.

Matt currently serves as the Administrative Partner of the Cheyenne office.
