Biography

Matt Harbin joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in 2003 and became a Partner in 2008. Based in Greensboro, North Carolina, he represents injured workers throughout the state with a focus on Workers’ Compensation Law for claimants. Matt practices in the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Department and is certified by the North Carolina State Bar in Workers’ Compensation Law. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Before entering private practice, Matt worked at the North Carolina Industrial Commission as a Special Deputy Commissioner, gaining firsthand experience with the workers’ compensation system.

Matt is a member of the American Association for Justice and the Workplace Injury Litigation Group. He is also actively involved with North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ), where he previously served as Chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section and continues to serve on the Legal Affairs Committee. In recognition of his service and involvement, NCAJ presented Matt with its Order of Service Award in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
