Biography

Matt Wood handles complex litigation and high-stakes appeals. Combining careful analysis with crystal-clear advocacy, he’s achieved an impressive track record of wins for those he represents.

Mr. Wood maintains a diverse practice with a focus on business disputes. He regularly handles issues related to corporate control, real estate, employment matters, intellectual property, and various business contracts. His clients range from individuals, startups, and small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. He is a student of the law who enjoys new challenges and often takes cases that don’t fit the mold of a typical business dispute, such as construction defects, agency rule challenges, marital property disputes, and defamation cases.

Mr. Wood’s clients have come to rely on him to give honest, considered advice that puts their interests first. In each case he handles, Mr. Wood strives to develop cost-effective strategies that meets his clients’ goals. He is proud to have earned the trust of those who come back to him for advice when facing new legal challenges. Mr. Wood is also an experienced negotiator who is equally adept at avoiding litigation as he is winning litigation when it is filed. Clients often call him as disputes are brewing to help avoid escalation. For him, success is not defined as simply filing or winning lawsuits, but rather by meeting the needs of his clients.

Prior to joining Weisbart Springer Hayes, Mr. Wood was an attorney at Baker Botts LLP.
