Mark leads Miller Thomson’s insurance practice and oversees the defence, coverage, policy drafting and corporate and captive insurance practice at the firm. With over 35 years of representing Lloyd’s of London syndicates,
Mark specialises in construction-related professional indemnity defence as well as a E&O defences of a wide range of professionals including insurance brokers, MGA operators, engineers, architects, lawyers, insurance agents and financial professionals on matters pertaining to the business of insurance. He also defends manufacturers of chemicals and other goods in product liability claims and practises in the area of directors’ and officers’ liability. Acting for clients in Canada, the United States, and England, Mark advises insurers on issues relating to excess liability.
Mark is a qualified arbitrator with the London, England-based Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and represents clients in both arbitrations and mediations. He is called to the bar in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, New Brunswick and Nunavut Territory, and has practiced before courts of all levels (save Quebec) across Canada and in the Carribean.
