Mark A. Chinn of Jackson, Ms, has practiced law for 48 years and operates a Mississippi statewide practice, specializing in family law. Mark has been the husband of Cathy for 48 years and they have four daughters and five grandchildren.
Mark has been Chair of the Mississippi Bar Family Law Section twice, served on the ABA Family Law Section Council, and has enjoyed long time service on the ABA Family Law Section Publications Board. He is the author of four ABA books on family law: The Divorce Paralegal Guide, How to Build and Manage a Family Law Practice, The Constructive Divorce, and Forms, Checklists and Procedures for the Family Lawyer. He is also the author of Dumping the Billable Hour. Mark recently chaired the Mississippi Bar’s ad hoc committee on collaborative law which successfully secured adoption of collaborative law rules by the Mississippi Supreme Court in July 2024.
He has been a frequent speaker for the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, American Bar Association Family Law Section, State Bar Associations, Mississippi College School of Law, Ole Miss Law School and the Mississippi Bar. Mark is the most recent recipient of the Mississippi Bar’s Lifetime Achievement Award, presented at the Mississippi Bar Convention on July 9, 2026.
