Biography
Marina Speligene is an attorney in Fishman Haygood’s Business Section. Her practice primarily focuses on mergers and acquisitions and corporate law.
Marina represents private equity funds and corporate clients in connection with private equity transactions, as well as in acquisitions and divestitures of assets and companies. She has experience across a variety of industries, including architecture, environmental services, equipment rental, and energy, among others.
For example, Marina regularly represents Bernhard Capital Partners (BCP), a Baton Rouge-based services and infrastructure-focused private equity management firm. Recent transactions include those on behalf of BCP portfolio companies Aventia, in its acquisition of St.Germain, and Grace Design Studios, in its acquisition of CRGA Design.
Prior to the company's recent sale, Marina was also a member of the Fishman Haygood team representing H&E Equipment Services (NASDAQ: HEES), one of the nation’s largest rental equipment companies, in various mergers and acquisitions. Transactions for this Baton Rouge-based company spanned the country, including deals in California, Arizona, and Montana.
Marina received her law degree, magna cum laude, from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University (LSU). She was also a Member of the Louisiana Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. While in law school, Marina interned for the Honorable Shelly D. Dick, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana.
Marina received her bachelor’s degree in criminology, summa cum laude, from LSU.
