Marie-Pierre Boudreau is an associate practising with the Environmental Law group in our Montréal office. Her practice focuses on environmental, Indigenous and energy law.
She provides strategic legal advice on compliance, regulatory matters and environmental impacts associated with current issues such as plastics, PFAS and biodegradability claims.
Marie-Pierre assists clients in preparing environmental permit applications and analyzing regulatory compliance issues. She provides guidance to clients on the legislative framework governing their projects and advises them in their negotiations with government authorities.
She also assists clients facing administrative and penal sanctions imposed by municipal, provincial and federal authorities, including administrative monetary penalties (AMPs), enforcement orders and penal proceedings. She represents clients before the Superior Court and the Criminal and Penal Division of the Court of Québec and has also been involved in preparing applications filed with the Québec Court of Appeal.
Marie-Pierre has appeared before the Régie de l'énergie on behalf of a diverse clientele made up of companies operating in all sectors of the economy that are seeking to control their energy costs and reduce their impact on the environment. Her work also includes drafting, reviewing and negotiating various energy-related construction, supply, generation and transmission agreements for Canadian and foreign renewable energy producers.
She also advises clients on Indigenous law, providing strategic advice on the duty to consult with communities, as well as on drafting and negotiating collaboration agreements between project developers and affected communities.
