Maricela Alvarado

Maricela Ventura Alvarado is a Partner in the Immigration Law division at Monty & Ramirez LLP in Houston, Texas. Her practice focuses on business immigration and a wide range of employment-based and family-based immigration matters. She assists individuals, families, and businesses with nonimmigrant and immigrant visas, permanent residency, citizenship, and immigration compliance matters.

Maricela regularly represents employers across multiple industries, including small and large businesses, healthcare organizations, and educational institutions. Her experience includes employment and investment immigration matters involving workforce mobility, employment authorization, and compliance with federal immigration requirements. Through her Immigration Law practice, she works closely with clients to help them navigate evolving immigration processes and regulations.

Maricela earned her degree in Economics from the University of North Texas in 2012. During college, she became involved in nonprofit service work and served as an AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America), a national service program focused on poverty alleviation. In this role, she worked with a nonprofit organization in Tarrant County that supported homeless families and survivors of domestic violence.

After completing her year of service, Maricela relocated to Houston, Texas, where she continued working in the nonprofit sector while attending South Texas College of Law Houston. She earned her Juris Doctor in 2017 while working full-time during the first two years of law school.

Maricela later joined Monty & Ramirez LLP as a law clerk in the firm’s Immigration Law division. Her experience with the firm during law school helped shape her practical understanding of immigration matters affecting businesses, employees, and families. Combined with her background in community service and nonprofit work, she brings a client-focused approach to her practice.
