Biography

Margaret H. (“Peggy”) MCCORMICK is a principal of Minsky, McCormick & Hallagan, P.C., and has been practicing exclusively in the field of immigration law for over thirty years. From 1999 until 2003, she served as national President of the American Immigration Law Foundation, and during her tenure, she established the Immigration Policy Center to increase public understanding of immigration. She is past national President of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (1997-98). She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Federal Bar Association of Chicago and is the Treasurer. Since 1986, she has been an adjunct professor of immigration law at Loyola University School of Law. She was named Master Teacher of Immigration Law by the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education. Ms. McCormick has written extensivelyand spoken on a wide variety of immigration issues. She is included in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers and has held the Martindale-Hubbell rating of AV (very high to preeminent) for many years. She has been listed in Woodward/White’s Best Lawyers in America since 1992 and is listed in International Who’s Who of Professionals, and International Who’s Who of Corporate Immigration Lawyers. She has been named Illinois SuperLawyer and is an Advisory Board member of the Leading Lawyers Network of Illinois where she was named one of the top 50 Women Business Lawyers in the state of Illinois. She holds her J.D. from DePaul University (1977).
