Biography

MARCI A. REDDICK is a partner in the firm's Real Estate and Business & Finance Practice Groups. She represents clients in all phases of real estate acquisition, sales, finance, and development. Marci has extensive experience in representing clients before various local land use authorities regarding platting, variances and other zoning matters. She was inducted into the first annual Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame in 2011. Marci represents for-profit and non-profit businesses. She also represents the firm's health care clients regarding real estate and construction matters.

Marci is the President of the Fort Benjamin Harrison ReUse Authority Board of Directors. She is the Chairperson of and a Governor's appointee to the Indiana Business Law Survey Commission, which advises the Indiana Secretary of State and Indiana General Assembly on state business entity statutes and related matters. Marci is a past Chair of the Business Law Section of the Indiana State Bar Association. She is a frequent speaker on real estate and business law matters.

Marci is the past Chair of Board II of the Marion County Board of Zoning Appeals, a position she held for eight years. She also served two terms as Chair of the Land Use Section of the Indianapolis Bar Association. Marci is one of the founders and past board member of Out Run the Sun, Inc., a non-profit corporation created to raise funds for research scholars working on a cure for melanoma.

Marci was a Governor's appointee to the Intelenet Commission and served on its Executive Committee from 1996 - 2004. In addition to her private practice experience, Marci served as Corporations Counsel in the Office of Evan Bayh, Indiana Secretary of State from 1987 - 1988 and as Executive Assistant to Governor Bayh from 1989 - 1990, advising him in higher education matters and other areas of state policy. She is recognized by Best Lawyers in America and as an Indiana Super Lawyer.

Transactions
  • Public Private Partnership - Mixed Use Development
Represented an Indianapolis real estate developer concerning financing for a public-private partnership with the City of Indianapolis to acquire and re-develop four historic properties at the former Central State Mental Hospital. Marci represented the developer in connection with the acquisition of the property and continues to serve as counsel to the developer. The redevelopment includes market-rate student housing, an event center, mixed use office/retail, urban gardens and creative green spaces.
  • Industrial Acquisition Re-Development
Served as counsel to developers in the acquisition of a multi-parcel industrial property having over 50 tenants using a tenants-in-common arrangement.
  • HUD LEAN Financing Transaction
Served as counsel in connection with a $12 million HUD LEAN program credit facility. Health care regulatory matters and zoning and real estate issues were addressed in connection with HUD requirements.
