Biography
Laurie Murphy leads the litigation practice group at Valensi Rose PLC, where she manages and mentors a seasoned team of litigators focused on resolving complex legal disputes efficiently and thoughtfully.
With civil engineering degrees and more than three decades of law practice, Laurie brings a technical and analytical perspective to real estate and construction litigation. Her background allows her to address matters involving property, development, and construction with a practical understanding of the issues that often drive these disputes.
Laurie represents high-end residential and commercial property owners, including corporate, partnership, and individual clients, as well as contractors, developers, real estate professionals, and business owners. Her litigation experience spans a wide range of disputes arising from real estate, construction, and business operations.
In addition to real estate and construction matters, Laurie handles general business litigation, employment disputes, and trust and estates litigation. Her Litigation – Trusts and Estates practice includes representing beneficiaries, trustees, and other interested parties in fiduciary disputes. Notable matters include securing a $23 million surcharge judgment against a trustee, including double and punitive damages. Laurie also has substantial court and jury trial experience, along with a strong background in alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation.
Understanding that litigation can be demanding for clients, Laurie and her colleagues focus on clear communication, strategic case management, and careful use of resources throughout every stage of the process.
Based in Los Angeles, California, Laurie is a frequent lecturer on real estate and construction law and regularly presents seminars for professional organizations, including the National Business Institute.
