With more than 30 years of experience Luis is the head of the M&A and Corporate practice group and co-founder partner of the firm.

His practice focuses on Private Equity, Venture Capital and Public, Foreign Investment, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Corporate matters, with emphasis on Real Estate transactions, being a pioneer in Private Equity and Venture Capital, representing capital funds in transactional matters.

He is currently a Board Member of the LPD Council of the International Bar Association (IBA); an active mentor of Endeavor Mexico; ex co-chair of the Private Equity Committee of the International Section of the American Bar Association (ABA); and Treasurer of the Georgetown Club in Mexico.

Luis has a law degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and an LLM from Georgetown University, USA.

Advised and represented Newell Brands Inc., a global manufacturer, marketer and distributor of consumer and commercial products, in the successful implementation of a merger that combined the business operations and assets of three of its Mexican subsidiaries in Mexico.
Q Engineering Plastic Products
Assisted in the corporate global restructure of Q Engineering Plastic Products, on the world lead plastic product solutions providers, due to the acquisition of Mitsubishi of the holding companies.
Zuffa LLC/UFC
Assisted Zuffa LLC/UFC a worldwide leading American sports promotion company specializing in mixed martial arts and the parent entity of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, in all legal matters related to the event including negotiations with Mexico City´s Sports Institute; negotiations and execution of an agreement with the Mexican Mixed Martial Arts regulatory association; review of the agreement between UFC and the venue for the event; negotiation and execution of agreements with medical services and anti-doping testing services related to the mixed martial arts event.
Windjammer Capital Investors
Advised Windjammer Capital Investors, a U.S. private equity firm, in preparing multidisciplinary due diligence (corporate, environmental, regulatory, tax, labor, intellectual property, real estate, product, export, and import) of two Mexican subsidiaries of Engineered Controls International. The total purchase price for this entity and its subsidiaries was approximately $400 million dollars.

Advised ENER-G Natural Power Limited in connection with the implementation and regulatory compliance of the Chiltepeque Landfill Site in Puebla, Mexico, which involves the exploitation of landfill gas for the generation of carbon credits under the Kyoto Protocol and generation of energy from landfill gas.
Tequila Casa Dragones
Represented Tequila Casa Dragones in connection with the lease of Agave growing fields and a distillery plant in Tequila, Jalisco, and a tasting room in San Miguel de Allende, GTO, which is a Historic site.
Cognizant Technology Solutions
Advised Cognizant Technology Solutions in connection with the lease of its industrial plants and in its negotiations with its Project Manager and suppliers.
Carnot Laboratorios
Represented Carnot Laboratorios in the acquisition of several industrial properties in Hidalgo, as part of Carnot’s expansion plans within Mexico for an approximate surface of 80,000m2.
CDC
Advised CDC, a Mexican subsidiary of Caribbean Distillers Corporation Limited, in structuring a $5 million dollars revolving credit facility including the preparation of the collateral for the facility, which includes, among others, the Tequila Patrón brand.
Black Canyon Capital
Represented Black Canyon Capital in the negotiation and structuring of a secured credit facility for $20 million dollar in favor of Inmobiliaria Playa Ensueño, for financing a tourism development in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora.
Clear Channel Outdoor Mexico
Advised Clear Channel Outdoor Mexico in the negotiation and implementation of the legal structure of Ecobici, a public transport service by means of shared bicycles that is part of Mexico City's Green Plan. Ecobici is the result of a public-private partnership between the Mexico City Ministry of the Environment and Clear Channel.
MIO Organization
Represented MIO Organization in six different agrarian trials worth $7mm dollars, where the plaintiffs sought to nullify the purchase of 450 hectares of seaside land lots for an up-and-coming resort destination in Tomatlán, Jalisco.
