Louis Richard Cohan is a litigation attorney with Cohan & Levy in Atlanta, Georgia. For more than 30 years, Mr. Cohan has represented businesses, employers, and individuals in complex litigation matters, including labor and employment disputes, business litigation, and trial proceedings in state and federal courts. His practice focuses on resolving disputes involving employment issues, commercial conflicts, and other high-stakes litigation matters.
Mr. Cohan has handled claims involving more than $850 million on behalf of clients throughout his career. He has been recognized for his trial experience through admission into the American Board of Trial Advocates.
In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Cohan has remained active in the Atlanta legal and business communities. He previously served as Chair of the Litigation Section of the Atlanta Bar Association, one of the organization’s largest sections, and also chaired the Small Firm Section. Mr. Cohan has served on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Bar Association and previously chaired the Atlanta Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the Atlanta Bar Association.
Mr. Cohan has received professional recognition from organizations including Super Lawyers, Georgia Trend’s Legal Elite, Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent, American Board of Trial Advocates, America’s Top 100 Attorneys, and the Celebrating Service Award.
Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Cohan is involved in charitable and community initiatives throughout the Atlanta area. For many years, he has chaired the Legal Run Around 5K road race, helping raise more than $200,000 for the children of injured and fallen Atlanta Police Department officers. Mr. Cohan has also donated blood platelets more than 230 times and continues to support platelet donor recruitment efforts in partnership with Atlanta Blood Services.
