Logan Chaney Abernathy

Logan Chaney Abernathy is a Senior Managing Associate in Dentons Sirote’s Huntsville, Alabama office and a member of the Tax practice group. She focuses on administrative law matters, handling cases from the government investigation stage through all phases of litigation, including appeals. Logan is admitted to the Eleventh, Sixth, and Fifth Circuit Courts of Appeals, the U.S. Tax Court, and various federal district courts. She has played a key role in securing significant victories for clients, particularly in advancing important issues related to the Administrative Procedure Act within the tax controversy context. Additionally, she provides counsel on regulatory compliance and effectively manages administrative law challenges.

Emphasizing dispute prevention and early resolution, Logan focuses on managing environmental and safety risks across organizations. Her experience includes litigating contractual disputes, civil claims, administrative challenges, and defending environmental authorizations. She also supports clients during regulatory investigations and criminal cases related to environmental incidents.

Logan also has a strong focus on white-collar defense and government investigations. With her extensive background, she conducts thorough internal inquiries and develops compliance programs, often achieving favorable outcomes for clients and preventing indictments through proactive engagement with government agencies.

Before joining Dentons Sirote, Logan worked with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and served as a legal extern for Judge Coogler in the Northern District of Alabama. A former collegiate golfer at Mississippi State University, she enjoys keeping her skills sharp by playing with clients.
