Lindsey M. Hay litigates complex civil and criminal cases at both the state and federal levels. Her practice focuses on clients facing investigations brought by federal and state law enforcement agencies and regulators, and all types of civil litigation. She has also handled a number of student discipline matters, including an affirmative lawsuit under Title IX against a major private university and has argued before the California Court of Appeal. Before joining the Firm, Ms. Hay served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Philip S. Gutierrez, Chief District Judge for the Central District of California.

Ms. Hay earned her law degree from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, where she graduated summa cum laude. During her time at Southwestern, Ms. Hay served as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. She also worked as a law clerk in the Capital Habeas Unit of the Federal Public Defender’s Office, and at Human Rights Watch Los Angeles. Ms. Hay serves as a guest lecturer at Southwestern on the topic of the heat of passion defense in California. She has been published in Georgetown’s American Criminal Law Review, the Cardozo Law Review, and the Southwestern Law Review. Ms. Hay received her Bachelor of Arts from Smith College in Massachusetts, where she majored in English Literature and graduated with honors.
