Lindsay is dedicated to the practice of criminal trials and appeal work, bringing an attentive approach to representing clients. She appears at all court levels in Ontario, handling bail proceedings, trials, appeals, interventions, and constitutional applications in her pursuit of justice.

Lindsay defends clients against various criminal charges, with a particular focus on defending sexual offences. She possesses considerable experience in constitutional litigation, routinely developing arguments to question the legality of laws or police actions.

Lindsay maintains an active appellate practice with regular appearances at the Court of Appeal for Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada. Her prior experience clerking with judges at the Court of Appeal for Ontario enriches her perspective and informs her approach to crafting effective legal arguments within appeals. Prior to joining Daniel Brown Law LLP, Lindsay honed her litigation skills working alongside experienced legal professionals.

Taking an educational approach, Lindsay teaches criminal law to students, legal practitioners, and the public. Her experience as an adjunct professor at Queen’s University Faculty of Law in Winter 2022 attests to her commitment to the field, where she led a seminar on advanced criminal law topics. Lindsay regularly speaks at conferences and provides insightful commentary to various media on high-profile cases.

An avid writer, Lindsay contributes to the dialogue on diverse criminal law subjects. She is a co-author of the forthcoming third edition of Digital Evidence and contributed a chapter on sexual offence appeals to the third edition of Prosecuting and Defending Sexual Offence Cases in the Emond Criminal Law Series.

Lindsay earned her JD at Western University, graduating with distinction, after completing her Honours Bachelor of Arts at Queen’s University, also with distinction. Her academic achievements form the foundation of her legal career in Toronto, Ontario, where she continues to make positive contributions in the field of criminal defence.
