Linda Rodrigue has practiced law since 1989 and joined Kean Miller in March 1991. She is a senior attorney in the firm’s Health Care Law practice and is based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Her practice focuses on representing health care providers and related businesses, including physicians, physician groups, pharmaceutical manufacturers, continuing care retirement communities, physical therapists, rehabilitation agencies, physician assistants, and other organizations involved in the delivery of health care services.
Linda handles a broad range of health care law matters, including administrative, regulatory, and litigation issues. Her work includes defending qui tam (whistleblower) actions, advising on fraud and abuse compliance, responding to Medicare and Medicaid audits, assisting with compliance programs and internal investigations, addressing HIPAA compliance matters, and handling Medicare and Medicaid exclusion and reinstatement proceedings. She regularly represents health care providers before state licensing boards and credentialing entities such as hospitals and managed care organizations, and she has handled more than 150 licensing board matters for physicians.
In addition, Linda provides guidance on Stark Law compliance and federal and state Anti-Kickback statutes. She also serves as special health care law counsel to criminal defense attorneys handling matters involving health care investigations and prosecutions.
Linda works frequently with the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office, legal counsel for the Louisiana Department of Health, and the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. Earlier in her career, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Bailey Brown, Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
