Biography

Linda Broocks is a trial and appellate lawyer at Kean Miller in Houston, Texas, where she focuses her practice on commercial litigation and related disputes. Her work includes complex commercial matters, securities disputes, toxic tort and premises liability claims, real estate controversies, employment-related lawsuits, and serious personal injury claims. She also advises clients on securities regulatory matters and represents individuals and businesses before administrative bodies, including the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.

Linda approaches each matter with close attention to facts, law, and practical considerations. Her goal is to help clients manage risk, narrow issues, and pursue efficient resolutions through negotiation, alternative dispute resolution, trial, or appeal, as appropriate. Known for her measured advocacy and commitment to ethical practice, she builds credibility through preparation, clarity, and consistency. Her clients include Fortune 500 companies, closely held businesses, and individuals involved in high-stakes commercial litigation.

Serving as lead or local counsel, Linda regularly handles single-plaintiff, multi-plaintiff, and multi-state matters, as well as class actions and MDLs. She is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Trial Law and Civil Appellate Law and is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

Linda has been a certified mediator since 2005 and is also certified as a family law mediator. In addition, she serves as an arbitrator for FINRA, giving her further insight into dispute resolution from multiple perspectives.

Before and alongside her legal career, Linda has owned and operated a clothing business and worked as an administrator at MD Anderson Hospital, where she coordinated the volunteer program. She also served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable John R. Brown, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, from 1978 to 1979. That early experience provided her with a lasting understanding of court operations and judicial decision-making, which she brings to her commercial litigation practice today.
