Before entering private practice, Martinez served in numerous divisions within the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office, including Juvenile, Crimes Against Children, and Gang. During her prosecutorial career, she was promoted to Chief of the Family Violence Unit and Chief of the Crimes Against Children Unit. She also served as Deputy Chief of the Misdemeanor Division, supervising a team of more than 20 attorneys.
Martinez's experience extends beyond Texas state courts. She served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas, providing her with valuable insight into the federal criminal justice system.
A seasoned trial lawyer, Martinez has tried more than 100 jury cases, including capital murder, murder, robbery, assault, sexual assault, and other serious felony matters. Today, she represents individuals facing complex and high-stakes criminal accusations, with particular experience in cases involving violent offenses and allegations of sexual abuse.
Martinez has also been recognized for her service to children and the community. Her experience led to appointments to statewide child-protection initiatives, including the Child Fatality Review Team Committee and the Protect Our Kids Commission. She was honored by Easter Seals North Texas for her contributions to the community and dedication to children.
In addition to her legal practice, Martinez is committed to educating future lawyers. She serves as an adjunct member of the Baylor Law School faculty, where she teaches in the Practice Court Program.
Martinez earned her Juris Doctor from Baylor Law School and her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Baylor University. She is admitted to practice in Texas and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
