Biography

Lea Nebel is a partner in the firm’s Commercial Litigation group and Co-Chair of the firm’s Construction Law group.

Lea represents a wide variety of clients in the construction industry, including owners, general contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers and design and engineering professionals.

Her construction related experience includes contract claims and disputes, construction liens, trust claims, lien priority disputes, bond claims, professional negligence, and bankruptcy. Lea has represented clients on a number of projects including, residential; retail; airports; hospitality and gaming; and athletic, retirement and recycling facilities.

Lea is a past recipient of The Sean P. McKenna Young Construction Executive Leadership Award, presented by the Toronto Construction Association in recognition of her outstanding leadership within the Association and the construction industry.

Lea also conducts a broad commercial litigation practice. She has acted on a number of cases involving partnership and shareholder disputes, debt collection, mortgage enforcement, real estate, commercial tenancies, and defence of charges under the Ontario Provincial Offences Act.

Lea has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario and various administrative boards and tribunals, including the Landlord and Tenant Board and the Real Estate Council of Ontario Discipline Committee.
