Biography
Laurie Rubinow is an attorney with Miller Shah LLP in Chester, Connecticut, where her practice includes Commercial Litigation and other complex civil matters. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley, graduating summa cum laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Laurie received her law degree from Temple University School of Law and also completed a portion of her undergraduate studies at McGill University. While in law school, she served as a legal intern with the United States Attorney’s Office, the Public Defender’s Office, the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, and for United States Magistrate Judge Powers. She also earned a Certificate in Negotiation, Mediation and Conflict Resolution from Seton Hall University School of Law.
Laurie brings a broad range of professional experience to her work. She began her legal career in private practice, serving as an associate at a law firm and later as a solo practitioner for approximately five years. She then spent approximately eleven years as in-house counsel at a nationally recognized insurance company, where she advanced to the role of National Manager. In that capacity, Laurie managed five regional field offices responsible for defending complex insurance-related litigation, including toxic tort and environmental matters. In addition, she has served as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Sociology at Central Connecticut State University.
Laurie joined the Connecticut office of Miller Shah LLP in 2005. Since that time, she has represented clients in antitrust, consumer, securities, insurance, and complex commercial litigation matters. Her work has included active involvement in the representation of the State of Connecticut in complex litigation against multiple pharmaceutical manufacturers.
In addition to Commercial Litigation, Laurie’s practice includes whistleblower, antitrust, consumer, and insurance litigation. She also has experience handling employment, intellectual property, and real estate matters. Laurie is actively involved in the firm’s pro bono efforts and has represented pro bono clients in both federal and state courts.
Laurie is a member of the Chester Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association. She resides in Chester, Connecticut with her family, is active in community affairs, and has previously held elected office as a member of the local school board.
